Communication methods to support or replace speech

In speech therapy, the need for methods to support or replace speech can be assessed if verbal communication is not possible. The speech therapist will recommend suitable communication methods and assistive devices for the customer and explain how to use these methods and devices. Methods to support or replace speech can include sign-supported speech, using objects or images to communicate, communication equipment, and tablet-based communication applications.
