Physiotherapy for babies
Our therapists have specialist expertise and many years of experience in supporting the overall development of babies. Even newborns may need physiotherapy to support their overall development. Reasons for this might include premature birth, complications during birth, structural abnormalities, delayed motor skills or abnormal muscle tone.
Physiotherapy can support the baby’s overall development. Starting therapy early is important. Physiotherapy allows babies to experience different kinds of positions and movements while the therapist listens to the baby and responds to their initiative. The movements activate the baby’s own motivation to move and explore their surroundings. Parents are instructed in care and carrying positions that support the baby’s development, and advice is also given on positive interaction between the baby and the parents. This kind of physiotherapy can be performed flexibly at one of our facilities or in the baby’s everyday environment, such as at home.
